Sitting quietly among strangers
In a room brightly lit
Plain and simple and totally sterile
There’s no cheer or personal touches
Fearful faces fill the room
Worried about their impending doom
What more do they have to lose
All of them yearning for some love and affection
I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes
If only I could fix my own ailing conditions maybe just maybe
I wouldn’t be so afraid to be sitting among all the fearful strangers
With the long sad faces
Here in this plain and simple and totally sterile waiting room
