Drowning In My Past©

I’m desperate to find piece with my painful past.

I’m drowning in a pool of haunting memories.

My eyes resemble this of a raccoon that has been on a week long bender.

My head is wishing for a break from constant daily throbbing migraines.

My conversations often resemble those of a rambling drunk trying to act sober.

Sleep deprivation fills my head with senseless memories and visions of a life I’m not sure is known to me.

I sometimes cry just thinking about any day that’s behind me. Often leaving me to see a door that I’m afraid to open.

I lay here still desperate to find piece with my painful past.
